I have a Whirlpool Quiet Partner III dishwasher that came with our house built in late 2001. We use it quite often (last 2 years just about every day). About 6-8 months ago, it began making really loud noises when it ran, but still thoroughly cleaned our dishes. Well, yesterday, it started the cycle by filling with water, but when the motor was supposed to start the rest of the cycle, it just hummed and did nothing. We tried other wash cycles and still the same results. I am assuming it is the motor that has gone out. Is it worth replacing the motor on a 7 year old machine, or just breaking down to go buy a new one? Or could it actually be something else we could look at?

Open the upper part of the pump and check the chopper and the pump inlet as described in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...hirlpool-dishwasher.html

Here are the break down diagrams and the parts list for the whirlpool dishwasher Model GU1200XTKS0
