The bottom oven won't heat, broiler works ok. Top oven works fine. Checked continuity on the bottom element and it measures open. Checked ohms on the temp. probe and it reads zero. What are the chances both parts could be bad?

You can always move the upper bake element down to the lower oven, and if lower unit now works properly, then probe is good.

It is possible the probe picked up a short when being removed, but not likely.

Good luck

I looked into that but the elements are not even close to being the same and don't connect at the same place.

I think if your temp probe was bad the oven would display a fault code.
Here is the service manual for the Maytag Gemini.
