Using a flat blade screwdriver, turn the defrost timer shaft CW until it clicks. Would the compressor start? If it would, replace the defrost timer. Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/20/2009(UTC) Posts: 10		i turn the shaft of the timer until it clicked. the compressor did not start. i then removed the timer and tested the connection 1 to 4, there was continuity. then i turn the shaft until it clicked and i have continuity between 1 to 2. then i tested between 1 to 3 and i had high resistance and uf reading. whats my next step.

Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/20/2009(UTC) Posts: 10		i removed the connectors and checked the temp control and it has continuity. however i was a little surprise with a variable pot resistor that as i adjusted the knob the resistance stay at 0.0 ohm. my meter only read open (no continuity) when the knob was set to off. What next this is getting to be fun :) Gene thanks for you help

Connect the wires from the temperature control together and insulate it. Plug the power cord back. Did the compressor start? If it did not, try to turn the defrost timer shaft. Post the results. I let it run for a couple of minute and notice that frost was beginning to build up on the coiler. I guess this means that the temperature control has failed???:)
