Locate the defrost timer (#121 on the diagram). Using a flat blade screwdriver, turn the defrost timer shaft CW until it clicks. Would the compressor start? If it would, replace the defrost timer. Otherwise post the results. - The defrost timer Part number: AP3995959

Check the temperature control (#43 on the diagram) for continuity. Replace the temperature control if there is no continuity. - The temperature control Part number: AP3414975

i removed the connectors and checked the temp control and it has continuity. however i was a little surprise with a variable pot resistor that as i adjusted the knob the resistance stay at 0.0 ohm. my meter only read open (no continuity) when the knob was set to off. What next this is getting to be fun :)
Gene thanks for you help

You are welcome.
Unplug the power cord. Connect the wires from the temperature control together and insulate it. Plug the power cord back.
Did the compressor start?
If it did not, try to turn the defrost timer shaft.
Post the results.

i did what was instructed and then turned the shaft on the timer. the compressor came ON. i also notice that the fan inside was on. I let it run for a couple of minute and notice that frost was beginning to build up on the coiler. I guess this means that the temperature control has failed???:)

Yes. The new temperature control should fix it.
