Have a 14 year old Jenn-air oven. The electronic control panel does not work (can still use the oven however). Aside from buying a new control panel, is there anything else that might have caused the panel to go out?

Tom,
When you said "control panel does not work" did you mean the membrane panel does not respond or the electronic oven control dimmed?
Gene.

Gene, There is no lights on the control panel screen. For example, when you hit BAKE and add 350 degrees, the numbers do not show up. The panel is black. The oven, however, will heat to 350. Tom

Tom, The problem you described calls "Dim display". Correction in most cases is to replace the Electronic Oven Control (#3 on the diagram). - The part number for the EOC is AP4088560 Gene.

I have successfully replaced the oven control panel. The cleaning cycle went fine, but afterwards I have tried to use the oven and am now having a different problem. The oven will not heat. I program Bake at 350 and the panel goes to Pre-heat at 100 degrees. But it does not heat, nothing, nada. I checked to make sure the child protection lock was off after the cleaning cycle. Any ideas??????

Tom, Open the control panel and check the high limit switch (#4 on the diagram) for continuity. Replace if it's open. Gene.

Gene, I replaced the hi limit switch but it apparently was not the problem. The oven display still goes to Pre Heat 100 but no heating takes place. What do you suggest? Remember, the cleaning cycle performed OK with the replacement of the new control panel, but now nothing happens. Could something have over heated during the clean cycle? Tom

Tom,
Did you check the hi limit switch for continuity before you replaced it?
Gene.
