My side by side refrigerator does not get cold and freezer not working properly, also to warm. I checked the thermostat for continuity. I even put one end of the bulb in Ice water and it did operate at different temperatures, it tested good. I replaced the overload and cleaned the coils underneath, they were very dirty. The compressor seems to go on, I put my hand on it and I feel it running yet it does not seem as loud as it was. It seems very quiet. The coils underneath do not get warm either. I wanted to know how to check the DEFROST TIMER BOARD. I am not sure that's it but before I buy that part I would like to be sure. I just spent $50.00 on an overload I did not need. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank to all.

Here are your parts Model ED22DCXBB00Remove the covers in the freezer so you can see the evaporator coils. If they are heavily iced up you have a defrost problem. If they are just covered with frost unit probably working. Is the evaporator/freezer fan running? If they are just frosted/iced up in one area (usually near the input side of the coil), you probably have a low freon/leak problem. Here is a good link http://www.applianceaid.com/refrigerator.html Check out #20 |
