I need to replace the oil seal on the gearcase for a Whirlpool model LXR7144EQ1. How do I remove the gearcase and take it apart to get to the oil seal? I already have the replacement oil seal kit. I just don't want to damage anything when I remove the old seal. Also I have the replacement oil for the gearcase and need to know how much oil to put in the gearcase before I close it up for reassembly. Anything I need to know about the seal on the between the gearcase halves when I close it up to ensure no leaks? Thanks in advance for your help.

It's rare these tranny's leak. Usually they will spray oil out of the top seal when the internal gears get stripped or other components tear loose. Make sure you are not sealing a bad tranny!
