After my refrigerator went warm, I disconnected the ptc to find that the ceramic disc inside was literally cracked in half. I cannot find the replacement part anywhere so I was going to install a 3 in 1 to repair the fridge. are there any better alternatives out there for me? anywhere to find a replacement part for the refrigerator?

Never use a 3 n 1 hard start kit, they will blow out a modern R134A compressor. They are fine for the older R12 compressors. Just check the name plate to verify R143A refrigerant and also post the correct model#

Thevunit is definitely r134a and the model is frc445gb. It is a frigidaire 4.4 mini fridge with freezer compartment.

Your unit is probably not in the data base yet. You can call Lowes, they usually can get parts in a short amount of time, if not let us know and we can help in using a un iversal start device.

Yeah unfortunately I am an rtm clerk at lowes and I myself am having no luck finding this part. For whatever reason our appliance parts hotline isnt working and my repair companies for appliances havent been helpful as well. Think I need to go with a universal.

The fridge is an old model, probably 5 years old. Anything starting with frc445 should he the same. The last 2 digits are usually for unit finish.

Is your old start device a coil and switch, or a square, black plastic ptcr?

I would recommend ohming out your compressor, because something made that disk pop, wheter it be a storm, surge. a common start device may work. I like the part # 8201799 myself it comes with a new overload as well. As a Tech if this doesn't get the compressor to start you know you have a bad pump. If you have a tech check all he can tell you whether it better to repair or replace the unit.

For Scottege:
I dislike you making uninformed comments on my post. You have NO info on this persons refrigerator, at best, you advice will not work, at worst, it will blow out his compressor!
These unprofessional type comments have no place in this forum.
