 Ok, we need help. The Fridge worked fine when we plugged it it. Ran a new water line to it. It seemed to be making ice right away. The fridge light switch was broken so HE tried to fix it. Eventually it shorted out. Day 2 the water from the ice maker line froze up and leaked down, sounded like water was dripping on hot coils. Unplugged the darn thing. Did something short out? Plugged it back in, the freezer light now flickers. HELP! Signed, "The Wife"

:) Hi Tim's wife The first thing I would do is to see how the fridge works without the ice maker. Lift all the way up the arm on the right side of the ice maker. It should turn the ice maker off and then run the fridge for a few days under you personal supervision. If anything wrong, let me know. The next step is to check the ice maker and the water valve, but lets do one thing at a time. About flickering light, check the light bulb for loosen connection. If this is not the issue then replace the light switch. Unplug the fridge first. - The part number for the light switch AP2067519 Good luck. Gene.

Thanks for replying. Yes, we are running the fridge with the ice maker off. Should we have done that when we first plugged it in? Is that why the end of the hose froze on day 2? It had already made a cycle of ice, then where the water fills the ice tray froze and water started being diverted down the sides. How do you keep it from freezing? The freezer light didn't start flickering until after that happened. The original problem was the fridge side lower door switch that makes the light go off when you close the door. Eventually, after working on it, that shorted out. Wondering if that might have shorted something else out? We have already ordered that switch.(#WR23X10143) The ice dispenser worked great for years before we moved it here. Would love for it to work again. Thanks! The Wife :o

Most likely the problem is a bad water inlet valve which is not closing completely after the ice maker filled with water. - The part number for the water valve AP3672839 Good luck. Gene.
