my ice maker is making ice but at a slow pace. I noticed a - and + sign on the back is that for more ice or more water to the ice maker. It is in the middle of the - and + sign if I change it to the + sign will that make it start making more ice.

That is just for more water. Try turning the freezer control and the refrigerator control a little colder. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
