Dryer stopped working and would just make humming sound. Assumed belt was off/stretched so I replaced it and made sure motor shaft moved freely, it did. Still did not work, so I removed drum, plugged it in and tried to start it. Same problem. I spun motor shaft with my foot and it started up... Is the motor bad or is there another component preventing the motor from spinning up on its own?

Bump,

It's a bad motor,

Part number: AP3094245
Part number: AP3094245

You're forcing the start switch circuit (in the motor) to close, when you turn the motor shaft, that's why it starts and runs, under that circumstance.
