Tested the switch. I have a digital meter. The meter just stayed showing a 1 .. Sorry never have used one before. Would this be correct in assuming it's ok. My dryer wants to shut off when you let go of the start switch. You usually turn the knob and the dryer begins and then continues to run. All seems well except it wants to turn right back off when you release the knob. Thanks again!

Do you have a wiring diagram?
If not open up the control console and see if there is one in there.

The switch seems to work as the motor starts.
Without seeing the wiring diagram, it sounds like a timer problem.
Try different cycle types.

On meter usage. Set it to ohms. Then short the leads together. It should go to 000 or real close. Now you know what a dead short or closed contact should be (0 ohms). There is a good sticky at the start of this forum on meter usage.
