Installed a new water inlet value. The value is staying open to long letting in more water than needed to fill tray. The excess drains into ice storage bin, freezes and locks up dispenser.
Do I have a faulty part? Incorrect part (FSP D7742204)? Can the part be calibrated for shorter open time?

Remove the front cover from the ice maker. There is a water level adjustment screw on the right side of the ice maker. Turn it CW for a half turn.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Amana refrigerator Model SRD27S4W

Is the front cover a snap on? Don't want to break something trying to fix something else. If water level adjustment doesn't work then assume a new ice maker is needed?

Pry off with a thin screwdriver. The adjustment screw is sideways with a phillips head. :)

Ok, I am going to remove and replace the maker. The wiring harness is in the rear, very inexcessable my I add. Is there a snap retaining the harness or should it pull straight out?

 Why replace the icemaker if you only have a fill issue ?

The IM heater, timer or something must be bad. The water run time is to long and the ice is not releasing. Water over flow is sufficent to freeze in bottom of bin and drsain into food section.

1.The adjustment screw will control the amount of water fill.
2. The mold heater is replaceable.
Why not remove the icemaker, empty it out and rinse it with warm water to be sure any ice in the mold is removed.
Re-install the icemaker and check the operation. Cheaper than a new icemaker.

Thanks for your help. I didn't find the adjustment screw until I removed the IM. I was looking for a larger screw instead of a little white plastic one. Anyway, I found a new IM on the **** for $45 so I will install a new one. Hope that fixes the prob.
