i have an oldie but goodie maytag dryer that has been making wierd noises for 3 days and when i went to start it today it didn't work. i have power to the light in the upper back of the dryer and it seems like the timer is working but this noise keeps happening. there is a bell thing in the back and it keeps making a noise help

The problem could be a bad rear bearing or/and a bad motor. This dryer is so old that 95% of parts for it are no longer available. Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag dryer Model DE806Gene.
