The gas flame does not stay on for more than 20 seconds at any given cycle. As a result, the air temperature in the exhaust duct (near filter screen) does not exceed 110 degrees and the the dial does not proceed in the cycle. Drying of clothes takes forever - if at all.

Replaced both the high-temp thermostat (Ap4036956) and MuliTemp Thermostat (307250). Also, ensured that the air duct/screen is completely clear.

Thanks,

However, I did one more experiment where I disconnected the dryer exhaust from the external exhaust duct. The dryer worked perfectly. The flapper was blocked and lint clogged the exhaust duct. I learn something new all the time.
