My oven clock and timer work but when I press start the oven displays the lo symbol and the degree as is normal for the preheating but then nothing more happens ...I hear the familiar click as if the oven was heating up but nothing happens ..it doesn't go beyond that stage.

Hi Doris,
The model number you posted does not come up. Verify and repost it.

Doris,
If the model number is correct then it is just too old and not published on-line.
Is the oven gas or electric? If you can make and post a few pictures of inside and outside of the unit it might help for better advise.

Pull the heating element out, remove the wires from the terminals and check the heating element for continuity and for 120VAC between these wires while the control calls for heat. Post the results. Are you able to post pictures?

My huband pulled put the elements and found that to be working but there appears to be little votage going to the elements ..very low votage. What do you think would cause this would it be the timer or the switch???

Doris,
My answers are very limited and are not as accurate as I would like due to lack of the wiring diagram. Guessing is not the way I'd like.
Gene.
