I purchased a new timer switch from appliancepartspros.com and the posts for the wires have one difference. the model# on the switch itself is identical on the old one and the new one but the posts are different. the new one is one post less than the old one and there is a jumper wire on the old one to the post that is missing on the new one. 1=post and _ = post
old switch has on bottom posts: GY 1_ T 1_1 W _1 JUMPER WIRE GOES FROM GY 1 to T1
new switch has wire posts: T 1_ _1 W _1 therefore no GY on new switch at all and no center T1 like old switch to hook jumper wire to. T1_ on new is same as GY1_ on old W _1 on both is the same T 1_1 on old is where the difference is
can this switch still be used and if so what do i do with the jumper wire? all the posts are the same as the center T1 regardless of GY/T/W labels on switch

A different site shows a timer part # 3397273 with no "B". Send the timer back, they shipped the wrong one.

Actually 3397273B is the same as 3397273. Whirlpool sometimes adds a letter to the end of a part number, but this does not make the part any different. So 3397273=3397273B as per Whirlpool, in fact the box itself should just say 3397273, even though the timer label will have the letter B on the end.
Dbaker, don't re-use the jumper wire. Connect all other wires as is on the old timer.
