I have replaced the relay components (2) overload and relay, and cannot remember ifr the 2 black wires from the capacitor connect to both the overload switch and the relay, or if they connect to opposite sides of the relay and the red wire connects to the overload component. could you instruct me or show me a schematic so i don't mis-wire this?

Your schematic should be in your unit, probably in a plastic pouch near the compressor.

If you replaced the thermal overload to the right pin, the capacitor gets wired across the two remaining pins.
