I have an Amana convection wall oven that is displaying F1, I followed the instructions on the ERC test and discovered that I needed to replace the ERC panel. I did this and I still get F1 display. The convection fan and internal light comes on but, no heat! The touch pad seem to be working correct. Does anyone have an explanation?

Does it show the "F1" error code only when you chose the convection mode or it does it on all cooking modes?
What part did you replace - the ERC or the control panel?
What did you do to diagnose the problem?

Gene, I had sears come out and they told me that it was the ERC control panel. Wanting to save money and having the ability to change out the part I ventured into this project... Looking at the diagram on the website Appliancepartpros.com and following the F code discriptions. It give me F1- in all cooking modes. The test that I performed is where you disconnect the power, gain access to the control panel, disconnect the touch pad (membrane) ribbon from the ECR, turn the power back on , If F1 comes back, replace the ECR, If it does not , replace the touch pad. The F1 came back so I replaced the ECR. Part # AP3970410 (Y0309305)

Thanks for the imput, I'll try the other part. Still cheaper than replacing the complete oven. Not sure how I missed this one.
Thanks

Well, I just replaced the ERC AP97728. Now, I get no F signals or beeping it appears that its going to work right... NOT. I get no heat any any mode. Both parts are new what else could it be?
When I place it in a mode; bake, conv etc it seems to go through its cycle of coming on, except no heat.

The first thing I would check is the circuit breakers. It must be two breakers for the oven, each providing 120V.
If one of the legs is off, then the control will work but the heating elements needed 240V and they would not.

I also have the amana AOCS 3040 and it intermittently heats. no error message on panel. Once it heats stays heated. If touch panel and change, can kill heat. Could it be the touch panel? I hve read posts on the ERC. What is touch panel part number if you think that is problem? Thanks in advance for your reply.
