OK, checked function as per tech instructions obtained from Whirlpool's tech site. Jumpered T & H, wheel turns, heater comes on, will eventually dispense ice and fill with water. That is all I get though, it will not cycle again unless I jumper it again. So the fingers start at 2:00, motor is working, the fridge is cold enough ( 6--8 degrees ), the heater works, it is filling with water ( level is just about right ). Can you tell me why it won't cycle on it's own? Am I missing something? I did look for a module ( $ 59.00 and some change ) at D & D appliance online. Whirlpool Fridge model # 106.8740981.

Replace the module and you should be working properly again.

Thats what I was afraid of. I was hoping that since the individual parts worked, i wouldn't have to go that far

Yea, I know. I have had it out and it is sitting here with me now. What sucks is the difference in prices online, that and who to trust. Some sites want as much for the module as the whole darn ice maker. Oh, and thanks for the info.

Well, you can get one about anywhere, but APP is the cheapest place I've seen to get retail parts. I only volunteer information on their forum not affiliated with them. Although I have ordered parts from them when none of our major parts suppliers had them in stock and they have SUPER service!!

Thanks Nat. I did check APP for price about $75.00 for the module. I also went to D&D appliance online, $59.00 #W10190935 module, $75.00 #4317943 flat-plug whole ice maker. Since I didn't get really accurate readings on the heater, I may just replace the complete unit. Thanks again.

I know this is late, but, the ice maker will not cycle untill it reaches 5 degrees F. Seeing that the cycle did not start the ice maker, and when you started it manually, it went thru the whole cycle. I would have checked the temp. in the freezer first.

I actually did check the temp first, 3-5 degrees, temp wasn't a problem. I got it to work after taking it apart and taking readings on everything, which all checked out ok. Then after 3 days , the wheel broke off, so I took it out. I will go with Ice trays for now. I believe its time to set this unit in the driveway, and Kill it with a hammer, that way it won't cause any more problems, LOL.
