Hi Rob,

The same thing happened to me and a tech said I needed to replace the motor and wanted to charge me $400+. Where did you get yours. Here at APP it costs $198 + shipping. Does it include the instructions on how to replace it and was it hard? Thank you so much.

I had the same hum noise, after investigation i found the centrifugal switch on motor had bad contacts. I cannot locate the switch. You have to purchase the motor which is sad because the switch looks inexpensive. FYI the ge repair man wanted 600.00 to fix it

It is the centrifugal switch on motor, the contacts are bad. It's a white switch with two connector under motor casing

Daniel,

Unfortunately GE does not sell this switch separate. The new motor comes as a kit with the new gear and harness and since last year GE raised up the price.

- The motor kit Part number: AP4432455
Part number: AP4432455
