Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 12/8/2008(UTC) Posts: 1		I just moved into apartment with hotpoint gas range/oven. While preheating oven a fire started in the drawer below which i had stored pans and an oven mitt. should this have happened?

It is a broiler. Wherever the oven is "on" there is the same temperature in the broil drawer. Here are the break down diagrams for the Hotpoint range Model RGB526ET3WH Gene.
