From other posts, I see it could be a thermostat rather than heating element. Any suggestions for finding this out for sure?

Hi Caldwell According to the wiring diagram for your dishwasher it does not have any thermostats. The cause of the problem could be: a) The heat element b) The energy saver switch or c) The timer You can check all of them for continuity and find the wrong one. - The part number for the heater AP3102314- The part number for the energy saver switch AP2919490 - The part number for the timer AP3124204- Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KUDC210S2Good luck.
