Hi there,

I have a Maytag Precision Touch Control 800 Electric Smoothtop, model MER5875RCB.

The front right triple element is not working properly. The inner-most element does not come on at all. The 2 other outer elements WILL turn on.

I have been told that it would most likely either be the switch or the triple burner. As I have been quote $180 for the burner, and been told it is not returnable, I want to make sure it is not the switch!

Any ideas how to diagnose? Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

You can find the instructions on how to check the element and/or switch as well as other parts in the tech sheets.

- The part number for the triple heating element is AP3873205 and you can buy it from APP just for $106.89

Thanks for the reply Gene.

Do you have any specific instructions on replacing the triple element.

Thanks again,

Mike

Mike,

Nothing special compare to all others in your range besides it has more wires connected. You have to lift up the top panel to access it.
