The Kenmore gas dryer will only run if the Press-To-Start switch is held down.

If you replaced your start switch, and that did not do it, it will be the microcomputer board, that is located behind the control panel. Part # Part number: 8546223
Part number: 8546223

This dryer uses a cheap power relay that likes to fail and blow out the microcomputer.
Advise to replace both microcomputer Part number: 8546223R
Part number: 8546223R
and the relay Part number: 3405281
Part number: 3405281
.
If you want to keep this dryer, suggest getting someone to install a surge protector in the breaker panel.

Are you referring to the motor relay or heater relay. They are the same part number. Thanks
