A few months ago, someone went to get water from the door and it wouldn't shut off. After about 30 minutes of standing there, going from the frig to the sink, it finally shut off. I have warned friends Not to try and get water, but yesterday, someone was here working on my kitchen and he went to get some water. It just kept running and running. Finally I turned off the water at the valve. Is there some kind of switch that I can turn off to keep it from dispensing water, but still get water to it to make ice? :( :( :(

In order to provide more accurate advise we need the complete model number of the refrigerator. This link can help you to locate it. Gene.

In order to stop water from the dispenser while keep it for the ice maker, you have to remove the wires from the drinking water solenoid on the water valve. Gene.
