i have the switch removed. let me look at the wiring harness to id the colors

when i test the white and blue the meter does not move in the open or closed position. the yellow and blue will read nothing, then when i push the button it reads 0.

The part is bad, replace the part with the one I gave earlier and you should be good to go.

Is there any way to jumper the switch? I need to drain the water.

No, not on that kind of switch. Not that we've found. If it were a whirlpool you could.....

i figured a way to jump the switch. i used flat connectors and put two wires together into the black(line) and one into the yellow(motor) and the other end into the blue(machine) and low and behold, it works. thanks again for your help. i will order the part tonight.

just need to drain the water..also...i found a different part number...ap3159413. are these the same switches. you mentioned part number ap3470229
