You need to run the appropriate test to verify all the valves are working properly. The mini manual is taped to inside side panel of machine first you verify hoses aren't reversed at machine hookup then put in diagnostics. You have to follow manual step by step verifying everything is working. You mentioned the valve was working but is it working properly? The tests will tell you if it is There is to much info to type it would be easier to get the manual out of the machine and go through each test step by step. You could very well have a bad valve I wouldn't think the board would be bad or your hoses are reversed. It's also critical that the machine is put into diagnostics properly or it wont go into service mode.

BaronG,

The "F2" error code means "Keypad/User interface failure" or in an other word, there is a stuck key detected by the control board.

- The part number for the user interface is AP3919482

Gene and v2k04:

It does act like a stuck button, in that it cycles thru the wash/rinse temp settings for 15 secs, pauses for 15 secs and repeats the cycle continuously. The only time the washer can be started is during the pause. We seldom press the wash/temp button since we usually go with the default temps, however.

It is difficult to get it to go into diagnostic mode. The only way I can do it is to press the power button and wait for the temp cycling to pause, then turn the power off and press a button to go into diagnostic mode. I get an F2 error on the display and it then shows "88" as it should. It then flys thru all of the "C" tests within a few seconds. Can't seem to get it to go into manual diagnostic mode. Also can't get it into console diagnostic mode to check the display.

I have verified the continuity in the control cable from the user interface to the control module. I also checked all of the cables to the valves.

I guess I would replace the board I've found with those machines if the board won't go into a diagnostics properly the board is usually bad, and there are so many revisions and software changes to that board it's not even funny. They also have an updated washplate as well to keep clothes from tieing up in knots.

Thanks for the advice. I will try replacing the user interface board and see what happens. It's cheaper than buying a new washer at least, although I think I should get more than a couple of years out of a $1000 washer before it breaks down.

I have no doubt you are correct. Unfortunately, I didn't take one out when I bought it. Next washer will be less frills and electronics. I lived in an area where water/sewer cost almost as much as gasoline, so I liked the claimed efficiency on this one. Live and learn. Thanks again.

Hey Gene,
I also was getting an F1 code and changed the control panel. As soon as I pluged it back in I now get an F2 code. Do you think I could have done something wrong or do I have to replace the user interface board? I am a novice with this stuff so I am just taking a shot in the dark. Could it be my new control panel can not "talk to" the user interface board?
Thanks for your hel in advance.
Ray
