5.5 year old range was hit by power surge. The smaller oven is fine but large oven quit working - oven light flashes twice followed by heating light flashing twice. Any help?

Most likely the problem is a bad control board. The model number you posted does not come up.

Gene is correct, the 2/2 error code is a bad board, and power surges are a very common cause of this error. Your complete model number is PGR484GGZS, and the Thermador part number you need is 499845. Unfortunately, the boards are located on the back of the unit, so the range will have to be slid out to replace it.

KC Our model has 6 burners (found the invoice - model PGR486GDZS), will it use the same control board 499845? Thanks

Yes, all 48" models use the same control board kit.

Sounds like a pretty easy fix - similar to replacing a motherboard in a computer? Any tips or is there somewhere to download a diagram or service manual?

I don't know of any manuals, but I do know the hardest part about doing the repair is going to be getting to the board. It's mounted on the back wall behind the two lower panels. This means you'll have to slide the unit out to do the repair, and this unit weighs well over 600lbs. Some servicers use sliders which can be slid under the feet, where others have air-sleds that make the job many times easier.
Once you get to the board it's just a matter of swapping the wires, but the boards in the kit are different from the originals, so you'll need to follow the instructions the come in the kit. be sure to test it out before you button everything up and slide it back in. And, as always, turn the power off at the breaker before working on it.

The boards are different and I don't know where to plug each wire on the new one. Please help, Thanks, 48 therma

Is this a dual fuel or all gas range?
The plugs are wire-per-wire, i.e. p1 goes to x1, p2 to x2, etc. The spade connections are as follows.
Dual Fuel Relays:
K3 Black and Brown (closest to the edge of the board)
K1 Red and Brown (middle relay)
K2 Red and Blue (Closest to the center of the board)
All Gas Relay:
K3 Black and Brown
Individual Wires:
x13 = Black
X12 = Blue (DF) or Violet (Gas)
X15 = Yellow (DF only)
X16 = Black (DF only)
I'm going by memory, and I'm not 100% on the x15 and x16, but they can be swapped without it being a problem. One is the input to the convection relay and one is the output, so swapping the wires still results in the convection element being energized.
X17 = grey
X18 = black
X20 = green (This spade is hidden in-between the transformer and a capacitor.
There's a jumper included in the 499845, and I think on the 48" all gas you only cut the orange and the DF you cut the red and orange, but you may need to call Thermador customer support at 800-735-4328 to confirm this. Said jumper goes on the X6 connection.
The small board is wire-per-wire.
If you do call Thermador they should be able to fax/email you the kit instructions. They have a techline, but only their authorized techs can speak to them
