My Viking Oven Door will not open more than 1/4 of the way. There was a previous post that said their door would not close and provided pictures - they are in the link below... http://forum.appliancepartspros...wont-close.html#post7908The hinge on my oven is exactly the same as the prior poster. Any thoughts on how to fix this before the $500 repair man visit? thanks.

Most likely one or both door hinges are broken. You can buy the new hinges from Viking and replace them yourself. The worst thing is - you have to force the door to open and should be careful not to bend the door frame and/or the door liner. Maybe it's better to call a professional. Why do you think it's going to be $500?
Gene.

That was my biggest concern - trying to force the hinges all the way down to get them out. I know the left is the problem child, but only replacing 1 probably makes no sense.
The $500 comes from the track record of this range and the fact that I live in MA. I think we are the only state that requires a licensed plumber to hook up the gas line or you can't get a C of O.
Thanks for the response.
