Model Number: VGSC306-4B   Brand: -other-   Age: 1 - 5 years

My Viking gas oven door will not close. Does anyone know of a way I can fix myself without calling a repair guy?

Thanks,

Check the door hinges for any damages.

Unfortunately I do not have any access to the Viking break down diagrams or parts list.

Open the door completely and move the actuator on the door hinge until it locks up. Grabbing the door from both sides, pull it up to release hinges.

1. are the actuators chrome/bright metal?

2. after removing the door, how do I know if the hinge is defective, and how do I replace them?

3. will doing this tighten the oven door seal and keep the door from falling down onto my toes again?

If you can take pictures of the hinges and post them it might help.

You have to move the lever "A" to position "B" to lock the hinge.
Grab the door with both hands and lift it up to release the door hinges.
