can anyone please tell me the type of screw driver needed to take the screws out of the face plate on my dryer. It's not the standard screw driver

They are torx screws, so you need a T20 or a T15 torx bit. Sorry can't remember the exact size, but almost certain it's the T20. You can pick these up at home depot or any hardware store.
