I recently installed a practically new (but used) GE oven. When baking, the oven temperature does not come up to the temperature set. The instructions for baking indicate the oven digital count will start at 100 and continue until desired range. This oven starts at 245 and will beep at desired range. When I open the door, the oven (set at 375) seems barely warm. Last night we tried to cook a pizza which should have taken 14 minutes but after 50 minutes it was not cooked. Can you advise me? After reading some of your forums, could it be the sensor? Thanks for your help.

If your oven has A bad sensor.The board will display an F-3 code If its totally shot, Start the oven at 350 does the bake(lower)element GLOW RED HOT?

the bottom element does get red hot and goes off - it doesn't come back on unless the door is opened.

you can calibrate the board to make it bake hotter. The true way of calibrating an oven is sticking a temp probe in the oven and record the temps(after it has cycled off and is at operating temerature) ovens lose heat through the vent it will get to a certain temp cycle off or cool down then come back on again you record the hi temp the low temp when the element come on add the two temps together divide by two and that will give you the average temp of the oven. On your control check your user guide it will tell you how to calibrate board but I think you run the temp up to 550 the push and hold bake then the board will display 00 then use the temp up pad to go in 5 degree increments up to 35 hotter or by going the other way you can go 35 cooler Like I said I think thats how you do it all boards are different. If that dont work try just holding the bake pad or hold bake and broil at same time but one way or another you can calibrate it

I will try to calibrate oven when I get home but it doesn't seem like 35 degrees either way will solve the problem. We wanted the temp at 375 and the control panel indicated 375 but the oven only seemed to be about 100. Any other suggestions?

Maybe the broil element is bad some of those use both elements to heat or at least pre heat if it works You may be looking at a bad board

I know the broiler works because we ended up using it last night to "brown" pizza even though the dough did not cook. If it is the board, do you have an idea of cost?

AP2029062 its about 235 bucks plus shipping pretty cheap considering its a GE part ya just as well replace the sensor too. while you're at it You can ohm out the sensor it should read about 1100 ohms at room temp

Sorry think I made a mistake on the part number I gave you the control board is no longer available. That part I listed was the control panel sorry
