Last night when I got home I noticed that the fridge and freezer was warm and not running. I had a GE Tech come out on today and he replaced a bad board. $350:eek: later the compressor motor kicks on and everthing started cooling properly. Seven hours later the unit will not shut off, even when I open the doors. I set both on lowest settings and still continues to run. It only stops if I set it to zero (off). Is this normal or am I looking at another issue?

Ice House, I didn't see the part that he replaced on the link you referencced, I may have overlooked it. Here is the part number on the box he left. wr55x10552. Here is a break down of the charges. Does this seem to be on par with in house service repair. The $110 charge to replace the board seemed extremly high since my wife said he replaced in 5 mins.

House Call Charge -----------79.95
Replace Power Control Board 110.00
Total Labor-----------------189.95

Total Parts-----------------140.00
Total Amount---------------329.95 + tax

Factory repair service has always been high. The claim is that they have to bill the parent company, inventory, insurance, technician cost. But outside service companies can do it for less. The part here at Appliance Parts Pros is $95.88.
If you want to continue with factory service, take out a service policy

After I do a repair on a refrigerator that was totally warm and got it fixed I always remind the customer that it takes 24 hours for the frig temps to stableize and not to worry if it runs a lot cuz it will until it reaches operating temps Ya got to figure a hot box with a load of food in it the frig is working hard to maintain temps, and it's transfering a ton of heat I wouldn't get to alarmed over it yet

Well sure you shoulda had a half a bin in an hours time lol considering a scottsman only makes about 8 cubes every 30 minutes or so.
