Coils are clean, fan is running and makes a engage noise every 1-2 minutes and compressor is not starting.Help please!

My guess is that the RELAY-OVERLOAD on the Compressor has failed,If this is a whirlpool built unit, its quite common, Please list the COMPLETE Model#

Drags is probably correct, there are a few posts on here for testing components, But you should(if not already done) unplug the unti. Don't want a simple relay/overload issue to become a sealed system problem. Nat

Thank you, I was hoping it would be something simple like that. Yes, it is unplugged now but it went a whole day until my wife told me about the problem. Do you think that may have caused additional damage??

Ok, test the relay first, it should be a little white colored box attached to the compressor, take it off and shake it, if it rattles that's probably your problem.

That is it, it actually looks like it was burned up, plastic is cracked open and is white around it. Thank you so much!!
