The snubber goes between the brake assembly and the machine base.
If it is worn badly enough, you will often see shavings or fragments of shredded nylon.

Thank you ...I will take it apart and have a look this weekend.

I have this washer apart, and tipped now. Those springs you mentioned are in place, and in good shape. I had a question about the motor.
Is it supposed to be solidly in place?
Mine is rubber mounted on a plate. The motor is mounted to the plate with rubber and teflon washers. But I can slide the motor around on the plate about an inch and a half forwards and backwards. Could this be the cause of the violent wobble?

The motor is designed to pivot on that mounting plate. Thet's the manufacturer's answer to the clutch, in an effort to make the machines more affordable.

Try removing the front panel and selecting a Spin cycle. Observe the action to see if you can spot the cause of the vibraton. One possible cause is a worn snubber. That's the nylon ring between the brake assemby and the machine base.

Doing what you said, I think I noticed at least part of the problem.
One foot was about the thickness of a nickel off the ground. This is because the feet are metal, with a rubber boot. One of the rear ones, the rubber boot is all dry-rotted, and not there. So I adjusted one of the front feet, and while the tub now vibrates a bit, and slowly moves around....the machine does not dance across the floor. Are the feet covers replaceable?

We found no matching parts for " AP4027856".

I found it by putting the number directly in, but that is not mine.
I have a thread in foot 1 3/4" long, and the threaded part is 1/2" diameter.

that was the one listed as the leveling leg for the rear. Try this one for the front:

That is it! But it is actually the rear that has the rubber part missing. I just grabbed the front one because it was easier to pull off. Now I learn the front are not the same as the rear. So, if the rear does not unscrew like the front, does it remove easilly?
