i replaced the ihgnitor in the oven. now i smell propane in the broiler. where could this be coming from.

I'm assuming the part you called "broiler" is the bottom drawer. The only way you can smell gas in this drawer is a loose gas line connection or a leaking gas valve. I would recommend to call a local gas company to check and pinpoint gas leak.
