Our Maytag washer model MAV4758AWW has begun to spin slow. The water drains quickly. But the spin isn't fast enough to ring out the cloths anymore. I noticed the drive belt seemed glazed over (worn) so I changed the drive belt but the spin cycle remains the same slow speed. I also removed the agitator and nothing was found under it to be binding the tub.The tub spins smooth and free by hand without squeaks or noises all the time and also it's quiet when its running through the cycles. So now what should I look for as the problem for a slow spin? Electrical or mechanical?

Hello edtrade, Check the thrust bearing kit at the bottom of the washer and make sure it is releasing the brake assembly properly. If it is loose or worn, you will need to replace the kit. Here is the part number for you. Hope this helps. Part number: AP4009132
