Top oven is NOT igniting. The pilot light is on. The broiler burner does ignite. I have wiped the thermostat bar/sensor off with a damp sponge AND have wiped the pilot light sensor and relighted the pilot and still NO ignition.
The Sears website still lists this model but shows almost all parts as discontinued.
All help and or assistance will be appreciated as we really do like this appliance.
Thank you in advance, Ray Clow

Ray, You may want to try to clean the bake burner bar to make sure nothing is obstructing the gas flow. A good old fashioned pipe cleaner does wonders. Gene has a post(several actually) where he shows how he had drilled additional holes in a burner bar to make it work, not sure if it will help your stove or not. If you can locate the exact problem and post a picture of the part I may be able to cross reference it to a substitute part.

Nat, Thank you for your response. Your suggestion may help. In the past when turned on or re-turned the unit would make a groan like a valve was opening and then you could hear the burner turn on(produce flame). I do NOT hear this groan sound (opening of the valve) now!!! I will see if I can take and post a picture sometime today. Ray

Nat, Here are 3 pictures of Kenmore 103.7966645. #1 is front view of upper oven The #2 is inside view of upper oven with racks removed showing pilot and burner assembly - and #3 is like #2 also showing the thermostat sensor... I hope this works as I do not know if the images are in this message. Let me know (if this does not work) how to include images in a post or I can attach in an email to you... Thank you, Ray Clow
