Timer was not moving. replaced timer with new one ($85). Found while researching internet there is something else that can control the timer in all repects like a moister sensor. A moister sensor does not show for my machine. Is there some other kind of sensor. Wife wants a new machine now!!!!!!!

Make sure the dryer vent is clean all the way through the vent outlet and there are no any air flow restrictions.

If there is nothing wrong, replace the cycling thermostat. If you need the correct part number for the cycling thermostat, post the serial number of the dryer.

Hi Gene
I cleaned the vent pretty good with a vent brush

As you requested I am submitting the Md# NDG5800AWW and the
ser# 10119897EC. I found a heater, thermostat and a thermostat in the schematics but no cycling thermostat. Thanks Tom

Wife says: clothes taking to long to dry. what else can I change other then the timer and cycling thermostat I did. I also ordered and replaced the thermostat that the cycling thermostat fits into. Still have problems. Is there anything else?? I will throw it out before I call someone to fix something I should be able to do.

You did not read Toms question carefully. We are talking about the problem with his dryer, not washer. If the dryer tumbles then there is nothing wrong with the door switch and/or lock.

Tom,

The cycling thermostat is located on the blower housing cover and it is shown as #12 on the diagram.

Part number: AP4053749

Gene.
P.S. Have you ran the dryer after you cleaned the vent?

This is really great. I will try it on the next drying day. If it does not work, Iwill order the part and report the findings. Thanks a million Tom

I replaced the cycling thermometer, and we appear to be ok ,but I don't think it was the electronics of the thermometer. The thermometer had a big blob of lint on the sensing face, but I changed it anyway. Something to think about if you have the same problem. So although I ate a timer and maybe a thermometer I still came out ahead financially and I am much more knowledgeable because of all the help I got from all who got me there. Hope my experience will work out better for the next guy Thanks Tom

What is going on? The same problem came back or it is something different?
