ive pulled the unit out from under the cabinet and run a load thru it, and trace the leaking to the left side where the rubber hose from the inlet valve goes into the side of the washer. it is not leaking at the hose connection but from behind some sort square baffle looking thing. it just kind of burps out water a little at a time and eventually stops , but not before leaving quite a little puddle. any ideas?

Possible there is an excessive pressure in the water line. Try to close the water shut off valve a little bit.
