Hi!
I have GE Profile gas cooktop need to replace switch. The model #: JGP336WED1WW.
I noticed that glass and burner box are together in one piece, and I don't know how to open the glass.
Can you provide me the instruction to open the glass and put it back after I fix?
Is it adhesive or other locking?

-Tony Tony, Presuming the cooktop is properly installed, Unplug the power cord / turn off the power to the cooktop. Remove the burner valve knobs, grates and burner caps. Remove the two screws holding the burner base to the drip bowl on all the burners (make sure you label the location of the burner base, caps , bowls, and wires ,you will need a putty knife, as well) Remove the drip bowl assemblies(if they are stuck to the glass,use the putty knife) disconnect the igniter wire(s) from the porcelain igniter electrode. With a putty knife(or simillar tool) CAREFULLY insert the tool between the glass and the metal burner box frame, to release the foam seal tape, and slowly, carefully lift up on the glass panel. Perform the repair and reverse the procedure, and test the unit. In addition to the part(s) you have, you'll also need the following seals, Glass to countertop seal Part number: AP2634968

Joe, I received the replacement part, but it comes with the full metal suround. I have taken out the old cracked assembly and it looks like I have to undo the electonics. I have gotten all the clips/screws holding down the heating elements, but I can't seem to get the little beige electonic box out of it's place so that I can move all the heating elements to the new top. It's plastic and I want to proceed with caution - any hints?

not quite yet. When I put the unit back together, the front panel is not fitting as tight as it should. It kind of pops up. I thought I followed the screw pattern correctly, but not sure what to do next. I have yet turned on the power to the unit.
Thoughts?

I had not attached the screws correctly. Just needed to make sure they were threaded into the correct area. Thanks again.
