Susan, Based on your post, my first thought is, You've got a worn out tub bearing assembly, located in the rear half of the outer tub. You should check the suspension parts first, Top Panel Removal
1. Disconnect the washer from the electrical supply. 2. Extract the (2) screws from the rear of the top, slide the top back and lift it off.
1. Disconnect the washer from the electrical supply. 2. Remove the (6) screws holding the rear access panel to the washer’s rear panel and lift the access panel off.
You have springs that mount to the cabinet flange and tub, that hold the tub up from the top.
You also have shock absorbers holding the tub up from the bottom.
You need to check the springs and shocks for excess wear and tear, loose, broken, etc.
When you remove the rear access panel, you'll be able to visually inspect the rear tub bearing assembly for the same.
Let us know what you find, and we can get you going from there.
:) :) :)
