My older but very functional Jenn Air down draft range with oven has a fan noise problem. Still works but fan is getting very noisy. Must it be replaced? If so, please give me some hints and tips on how to proceed without paying more than the cost of a new stove. Thank you so much.

You'll need to determine whether the noise is coming from the fan motor itself, or the blower wheel. Part number: AP4009957

Thanks so much for your reply. When I looked at the parts list, I saw the fan wheel and began to think its the wheel. How can I tell if its the fan motor or the blower wheel? Where is the blower wheel in the stove? Thanks again.

Thanks again. Please help this layperson locate it on the physical stove.
When I open the oven, on the back wall I can see a cover with holes (looks like it unscrews). I had assumed that the fan was behind the cover.
Where is the blower wheel relative to this cover?
Also, once I open things up, is there a way I can tell whether it is the blower wheel or the fan motor making the noise? Thanks.
