Hi. When I turn on my oven, it makes a clicking noise when it lights. Then, it'll light and shut off not even a minute later. I'll keep trying and it'll smell like gas.
Is it the igniter? What should I do?
Thanks!

How long it takes to light up the burner since the control called for heat?
Also I need the complete model number of the unit.
Gene.

I have the same problem with a Magic Chef CGR3742AWD gas oven. The glow plug gets red, gas flows, the oven ignites, but then shuts off 10 seconds later. Then the oven begins a cycle of trying to ignite over and over, acting as if the flow of gas is restricted and never again fully lighting until it is turned off and given time to cool completely.
The broiler in the top of the oven works fine.
Thanks, KM

KM, Most likely the problem is a bad bake igniter. - The part number for the igniter is AP205873 Here are the break down diagrams for the Magic Chef range Model CGR3742ADWGene.
