During rinse cycle, dishwasher stopped working; burnt smell coming from unit. I removed the front panel and checked the interlock switch with an ohm meter. With power off, there was continuity when I depress the nub on the interlock switch. The area where the interlock switch is located, feels hot to the touch during the wash cycle and the plastic front panel is starting to melt in that area. Right now the dishwasher is inoperable.

Here are your parts. Replacement parts for GSD2000-J04CC models | AppliancePartsPros.comSince it is the switch that is heating up I would check it. Remove the wire from one side of it and check it for resistance, Use your most sensitive meter scale. Also before measuring short the meter leads together to see if there is a zero offset. The switch should measure 0 ohms. For example 10 amps flowing through 1 ohm is a 100 watt heater. What can happen is that switch contacts can get dirty or pitted. Then when they close there is a resistance and as current passes through the contacts it creates heat. This further degrades the contacts and the problem gets worse with time. If there is zero resistance heat cannot be generated. |

I am not sure but usually once you get the door's inner cover off, it becomes self evident. |
