Whirlpool washer fills with water to set level, but does not agitate, spin or drain. If the control knob is pushed in at any part of the cycle, it makes a buzzing noise. Could it be the lid switch?

The first thing I would check is the lid switch.

- The part number for the lid switch is AP3094142

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool washer Model LA7680XTW0

Lid switch checks OK with ohmmeter; motor wiring also checks out OK. What's next? Capacitor or actuator switch? Can the lid switch check out Ok and still be bad?

Yes, it can be bad. The best way to check the lid switch is to bypass it.
