Hi!

My Whirlpool side by side refrigerator, model # ED2JHGXRQ00 is not defrosting.

I don’t see a defrost timer in the parts breakdown list but the parts list shows a “bi-metal defrost”. Is this the same thing? I ohmed out the heater coil at 26 ohms. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,
your model has an electronic control. It's either the control or the defrost bi-metal

Hi Nat,

Is there a way for me to determine whether it is the bi-metal or the controller?

Thanks,
Joe

The easiest way is to test the bi-metal for continuity, if it tests ok then it's probably the control.
Hope that helps
Nat
