Washer only spins in Stainmaster mode of Regular cycle, not in other cycles, but timer continues to rotate to usual time to off. Was occ. spinning when manually set to spin on other cycles but no more. Could this be a lid switch problem, a timer problem, or another electrical contact problem? No other problems noted.

Thanks, Gene. Is there somewhere I can get this cheaply or borrow one? Is there a different one for appliances? Overall, do you have an hunch on which is most likely to be the cause?

Very likely the problem is a bad timer. You may want to order one from Appliance Parts Pros and give it a try. If it would not fix the problem, you can return it even if the timer was installed. - The timer Part number: AP4045089
