When cleaning the knob, accidentally I left water got in and was not aware of it. As soon as I placed the knob back and turn the burner on, the connection down below the knob sparked and trip the breaker. I unplugged the power supply to the oven as well as the gas supply, removed the switch and clean off everything real good. I put back everything in order and when plugging the power supply, there is a ticking sound like the switch was not completely close. Is this a problem with the switch? And if so, how do I replace it? Also if I wanted to take the switch out to take it to the store, can it be done without cutting the wire? Thanks, hq

Most likely the ignition switch has to be replaced. The wires are plugged into the switch.

- The part number for the ignition switch is AP4277633

Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool range Model SF370PEWN4
